Ford to launch electric Puma in 2024

Ford has revealed that it will be launching an all electric version of the Ford Puma SUV in the next few years, but at the moment – the company has not revealed much about it. The only thing said so far is from Stuart Rowley who is the boss of Ford Europe.

“There’s nothing further to say about Puma today other than that we will have an electric version of that vehicle.”

However, unlike the upcoming electric version of the Ford Transit Custom, the EV Puma won’t be using the Volkswagen MEB platform. The MEB platform is used in the ID products and will be in some upcoming Ford vehicles, as part of a new partnership between the two companies.

The Puma is a new and important car to Ford, for a long time the Fiesta has been its best selling car but in 2021 the new smaller SUV became the top seller for Ford and for the first time in 12 years, the Fiesta wasn’t even in the top ten in the UK.

Ford is investigating $22 billion between now and 2025 into getting the company launching more electric cars, already the comply has the Mustang Mach E, Transit-E and the F-150 Lightning on sale.
