Today, Lenovo has announced its first phone that it will be selling under the Lenovo brand. The new ThinkPhone will be targeted towards IT pros and Lenovo says it will pair seamlessly with ThinkPad PCs. Because Lenovo owns Motorola, this will be called the ‘Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola’

Lenovo hasn’t said exactly when the ThinkPhone will go on sale, but it has said it will be “in the coming months.”

Considering the target market for the ThinkPhone is IT pros, what has Lenovo added to make this a compelling buy for those types of customers? Well, it has a dedicated processor core for keeping PINs, passwords and other keys isolated, the Lenovo ThinkShield security software is included as well as Moto Secure and other MDM applications.

For the specs, Lenovo hasn’t held back at all. It is running the latest Android 13 operating system and a pretty new, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. For the screen, it is a 6.6-inch pOLED panel, with a resolution of 2400 x 1080. Lenovo has also packed it with 5G and WiFi 6E capability, with a super long battery life of 36 hours.

For the storage, there are two options with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB as well as the choice between 8GB or 12GB RAM.

Judging by the specs, it should be pretty tough  too. The build is at a military standard (MIL-STD 810H) and uses aircraft-grade aluminum and Gorilla Glass.

The new ThinkPhone price hasn’t been revealed yet, but we do know that it’ll be available from launch in the US, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia.
