LG Stylus 2 features DAB radio for the first time on a phone

LG Stylus 2 features DAB radio for the first time on a phone

A few years back, having a built in FM tuner in your phone was quite useful but in recent years the mobile networks are getting faster and despite what we experience in the real world – the phone companies are expanding the range, slowly. Also we now have virtually every song available to stream or download to our phones so the need for radio out and about isn’t so necessary. However a lot of the phones from Samsung still seem to have FM tuners included, so people must seem to use them.

The latest phone from LG is the first phone ever to have a DAB+ tuner included although the standard is slowly but surely rolling it’s way out across the globe, with the most traction in the UK as the majority of the major radio stations have already jumped on board and also a lot of cars either come with a DAB compatible radio or offer it as an option. The new LG Stylus 2 is launching soon but interestingly the DAB version wont be sold in North America as DAB isn’t as widely adopted in the USA however it will be sold in the UK, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Norway.

The LG Stylus 2 has a 5.7-inch display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM, a large 3,000mAh battery and 13MP camera. It also comes with a stylus similar to the Note range from Samsung.
