LG will be bringing the 27-inch UltraFine 5K back soon

Last week, we reported that LG had stopped selling the 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K display and that this was at the same time Apple had released its new Studio Display. At that time, LG only had one model up for sale, the maller 23.7-inch 4K model. However, earlier today LG has spoken to The Wall Street Journal about this.

LG said to the WSJ that it has now been discontinued and was just temporality out of stock due to component shortages and high demand. LG said that the display should be back in stock on its own website by April, with stock at other stores available soon-thereafter.

Apple and LG originally closely worked together on the two UltraFine displays, with a 5K display, 500 nits of brightness and a P3 wide colour gamut. To connect your Mac, all that is needed is a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, the display can even charge up most MacBooks too.

Apple’s new Studio Display is more expensive that the LG UltraFine, but has an aluminium case, is brighter by 100nits, has a built in webcam and supports Centre Stage.
