M25 now has one of the largest EV charging hubs in the UK

A few weeks ago, Ionity opened one of the largest EV charging hubs in the UK. Located just off the M25 motorway in Dartford. The new Ionity hub has 24 350kW chargers, that are powered by 100% renewable energy.

This new hub is located at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Dartford and while it is a very large hub, it isn't quite as large as the BP Pulse Gigahub, which is at the NEC in Birmingham. This site was opened in 2023 and has 30 150kW DC chargers, as well as 150 7kW chargers, ideal for people spending the day at the NEC.

“It’s essential for travellers all across the UK to have access to high-quality charging infrastructure if we’re going to keep accelerating the transition to electric mobility. [This will] make long-distance EV travel more accessible, convenient, and reliable for all drivers – whether they are hotel guests, business travellers, or fleet operators”.

Andreas Atkins - Ionity UK Manager

Ionity has other large hubs planned at DoubleTree hotel locations in the UK, with plans for Newbury North, Bristol, Coventry, Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow.

Link to Zapmap location - note, this shows 16 chargers, but users with photos have noted there indeed 24.
