MG sales are up by 76.3%

Earlier this month, MG revealed that it has had a surge in sales this year, with a 76.3% increase year-on-year and the company now has a 1.5% share of the UK market. The company has also sold more cars in the first six months of 2021 than it did in 2019, which could be down to the brand’s price friendly electric cars.

MG is becoming more and more of an electric car company, with the MG ZS EV, the MG 5 SW EV as well as the hybrid MG HS. In the first five months of 2021, out of the cars MG sold 31.4% of them were fully electric.

“Mid-year is the perfect time to reflect on our achievements so far in 2021, a year which has seen us constantly outperform the market in what have been some really tough trading conditions.”

Guy Pigounakis – MG Commercial Director

MG is now the fourth biggest electric car brand in the UK and the company has increased its dealer footprint, with 30 new dealers joining in the last year, bringing the total dealers in the UK to 137.
