New BMW 2 Series now on sale in the UK from £34,980

Earlier this month, BMW put the new 2 Series up for sale here in the UK, with prices starting at £34,980. Three models are currently available, with the entry level 220i, 220d and M240i. Later this year the iconic M2 Competition will join the lineup.

The entry level 220i has a petrol 2.0-litre four cylinder engine with 181bhp, the 220d has a 2.0-litre four cylinder with 188bhp. The current top of the range model, the M240i xDrive has a 3.0-litre straight six and four wheel drive.

Later this year, the M2 Competition with 396bhp will be available.

Here in the UK, the M Sport styling package will be standard on the 220i, 230i and 220d. It’ll include 18-inch alloys, adaptive LED headlights, sports steering, sports seats and a sports steering wheel.
