Acer is entering Google’s territory with its new Cloudbook laptops which are very similarly priced and specced. Not long ago HP entered the really cheap Windows laptops with the HP Stream 11, now Acer is not only competing with HP but Google as well with its Chromebook devices.

The two new laptops are named the Aspire One Cloudbook 11 and 14 which run Windows 10 and are powerful enough to run the web and document editing. In the US they are basically a steal at $169 and $199, which is $30 less than the HP Stream 11 and 13. The internals are good with a Intel Celeron running at 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM and USB, HDMI and SD card slots.

Something which may concern you with a Windows laptop is that the 11-inch model has 16GB storage, although the higher end models do have 32GB and 64GB offerings. The 11-inch comes with 16GB or 32GB and the 14-inch comes with 32GB or 64GB. Acer has also managed to include a year of Office 365 Personal and 1TB of OneDrive space, Acer has said that the OneDrive space can be used instead of the storage.

The Cloudbook 11 will be available in August for $169/£179.99 and the larger Cloudbook 14 will go on sale in September for $199/£199.99.
