Volkswagen’s new performance version of the ID.4 SUV, the GTX has now go on sale in the UK, with prices starting at £48,510. VW announced the ID.4 GTX back in April and the brand is like GTI but for the company’s electric car range.

The entry level car comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, sporty body kit as well as some unique design changes on the bumpers and rear diffuser. Inside, VW has added stainless steel pedals, sports seats, keyless go, 12-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a heads up display.

The GTX Max costs £55,540 and adds adaptive dampers, three-zone climate control and two sports seats up front, both heated and with massaging function.

The ID.4 GTX is more powerful than the standard ID.4 models, with 295bhp, four wheel drive from two motors and a range of 301 miles. 0-60mph is handled in 6.2 seconds with a limited top speed of 112mph. The standard GTX has a range of 301 miles with the GTX Max having a range of 291 miles.

Both models support DC fast charging at 125kW which can give the car 199 miles of range in 30 minutes.

The ID.4 GTX is on sale now in the UK with prices starting at £48,510.
