Periscope videos are now embedded in Twitter feeds

Periscope, Twitter’s own live streaming service now finally plays and streams directly from Twitter. Before this change, if someone who you’re following went live then to even watch the live stream you had to open up the Periscope app and then watch it, now with this new update for iOS users the Periscope streams will appear directly within the Twitter app and interact with it.

Periscope statement:

“For broadcasters, this means you can reach the massive Twitter audience. And for everyone on Twitter, there’s now a richer experience in your home timeline, search results, and on anyone’s profile who’s shared a Periscope.”

Twitter purchased the app grind a year ago and it’s managed to become the number one streaming app coming above the previous top service, Meerkat and Facebook Live. The integration with Twitter is purely for watching, commenting and liking and actually creating streams is to be done within the Periscope app.
