Polestar updates the 2 with more range and more power

Polestar has updated the Polestar 2 this week with its first major refresh since the car was introduced in 2020. The Polestar 2 rivals the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW i4 and the company has focused on updating the technical components of the car with new designs in places, more trim options as well as more power and more range.

Polestar has updated the battery tech with improved cell chemistry, which means the battery pack is now more dense which results in a maximum capacity of 69kWh. The standard Polestar 2 can now go 295 miles on one charge. To go with increased range, the Polestar 2 now comes with 130kW charging as standard.

The standard Polestar 2 has a little bit more power, from 221bhp to 228bhp but the company has not revealed any new performance figures, if there are any.

Polestar will also be making a new Performance option available, via a software update. This will incense the car to 469bhp and 680Nm of torque.
