ScottishPower launches new home EV charging plan

ScottishPower, a UK energy provider which only uses 100% renewable energy, has announced a new add-on available for its customers called EV Optimise. The add-on plan is available now for eligible tariffs and will allow ScottishPower to essentially remotely manage the car charging for the customer.

The benefit of this, is that charging can be enabled when demand on the UK grid is at its lowest, resulting in potentially large savings. ScottishPower also says that its new plan will allow EVs to be charged for “as little as 2p per mile.”

“We want to make the transition to EVs as easy as possible, and make sure that our customers can continue to benefit from owning or leasing a low-carbon vehicle. Not only are our EV-driving customers lowering their bills and their own carbon footprint, but they’re also helping us to support the UK’s decarbonisation journey too.”

Andy Mouat, Head of Smart Mobility at ScottishPower

ScottishPower currently has over 10,000 customers that have EVs and the company has also installed over 4,000  home chargers.
