This week, Targus has launched a new backpack which has built in support for Apple Find My. The new Cypress Hero Backpack features a padded laptop compartment, which can take up to 15.6-inch laptops as well as a multitude of other pockets and zipped areas. The main area has a 22L capacity.

On the top is the Find My device which allows the backpack to be tracked in the Find My app on iOS, macOS and iPadOS.

The unit is powered by a CR2032 coin battery, same as an AirTag and is designed to be water resistant. Targus has said that it has been designed to be “difficult for would-be thieves to remove.” Looking at the manual, the unit needs to be removed with a SIM ejection tool.

Targus revealed this backpack back in November 2021 and then again at CES 2022, so it has taken the company quite a while to bring it to market. It is on sale now in the US, priced from $150.
