The next Nissan GT-R is reported to be a pure combustion model

The next Nissan GT-R is reported to be a pure combustion model

According to a Japanese car website, Best Car the next generation of Nissan GT-R that comes along will be a pure combustion only model, with no hybrid model on the cards. The report also says the next version will be a big rework of the current R35.

It has been widely expected that whatever new version follows on from the R35 would be electrified in some way, be it mild hybridisation or something else. However, according to Best Car the R35 GT-R can come along with petrol power only, thanks to the strong sales Nissan is managing with its hybrid and pure electric car sales, this helps offset the company’s fleet Co2 emissions.

A new GT-R is due in early 2023.
