Ubiquiti announces the Dream Machine SE, on sale now

At the latter part of this week, Ubiquiti made the Dream Machine SE generally available outside of the Early Access store. A couple things have changed from the EA version on the public version. The name and the PoE ports configuration have changed. When the device was announced in July 2021 it was called the UniFi Dream Machine Pro SE, however it is just the Dream Machine SE now. Also, with the EA version, all eight ports only supported 802.3af however, six are 802.3af and 2 are 802.3af/at now.

Everything else is the same, so the upgrades over the UDM-Pro are:

  • All eight LAN ports are PoE enabled (6 are 802.3af and 2 are 802.3af/at)
  • 2.5GbE on RJ45 WAN port
  • 128GB SSD for UniFi Protect or other UniFi OS apps

This means our comparison guide from October 2021 is still relevant, which can be found here. In this guide we pit the UDM-Pro and UDM-SE head to head and see which is best.

The UDM-SE is on sale now on Ubiquiti’s official store in the US for $499, UK for £443.67 and EU for €528.00. As of writing the EU and UK store is sold out, but the US store still has it in stock.
