Ubiquiti launches new G6 Bullet camera

UniFi G6 Bullet

Ubiquiti has recently launched the new G6 Bullet camera for UniFi Protect, which now offers 4K as standard and improved AI detection performance.

The G6 Bullet costs $199 in the US and features a larger body than the previous G4 and G5 Bullet cameras, but still maintains the same mounting hardware as those models too, so drop in replacements should be very simple.

Also, while the body is a bit larger, it is slightly smaller than the G4 and G5 Pro cameras and lacks the optical zoom that those models are known for.

With the new G6 camera, Ubiquiti has built in a new multi-TOPs AI engine which it says means it can now handle Face ID for UniFi Access and license plate recognition too.

The G6 Bullet is also NDAA Compliant in the US, meaning they adhere to government requirements, which essentially bans all Chinese security camera manufacturers, such as Dahua, Huawei and others.

In regard to the G5 line of cameras, Ubiquiti has outlined where the new G6 cameras fit in, saying:

"Install G6 cameras if you want high-quality 4K coverage, built-in face and license plate recognition, and durable IP66 housing at a highly competitive price point. They sit squarely between the simpler G5 line (with lower resolution and fewer analytics) and the more specialized AI Series (with unique form factors and advanced capabilities)."

The new G6 Bullet is now on sale in the US for $199, in the UK for £190.80 and in Canada for $285.
