Ubiquiti introduces UID (UniFi Identification)

Ubiquiti has recently announced a new enterprise and business focused software suite, called UID. UID ties together employee access to WiFi, doors and VPN into one app and will allow users to get access to those applications with one click.

Currently UID is only available in the US, Canada, and European Union and its in its beta phase too. IT admins can import and sync existing users from Office 365 or G Suite, using LDAP or Active Directory also.

If the office building uses UniFi for WiFi, UniFi Access for door access then the UID app can be a one stop shop, employees can unlock doors with their phone or NFC card and use the UID app on macOS, Windows, Android or iOS to log into the WiFi, without the need or security risk for people to remember SSIDs and WPA2 keys, as soon as an employee leaves, remove them from the system and they won’t be able to log into the WiFi or gain access to the doors.

Ubiquiti UID Plans

Ubiquiti has several plans available, as well as some system requirements. Jumping up the higher plans give users access to more doors, more recording history and things like custom domains. Prices are not yet publicly available and Ubiquiti say to contact sales.
