Ubiquiti launches new UniFi Display Cast Pro

Ubiquiti has expanded its UniFi Connect lineup with the new Display Cast Pro. Ubiquiti is still offering the standard Display Cast for $199 in the US and this new option comes in at $279, but adds a few notable additions. The device still supports the ability to play back images, videos, YouTube videos in 4K resolution but now supports keyboard and mouse control, using the additional USB-C port next to the Ethernet port.

Ubiquiti suggests using a USB-C wireless receiver in the images it provides, one that connects to both he mouse and keyboard but this is an interesting product to say the least. At the time of writing, there aren't any demos or videos online showing what you can do but it will be good to see. The Pro version also supports WiFi, but looks to be only via UniFi WiFi Auto-Link which is also seen on the UT-ATA and the EV Station devices.

Like the standard Display Cast, this doesn't support UniFi Protect camera playback, that requires the Protect Viewport.

The new UniFi Display Cast Pro is on sale now in the US, priced from $279.
