Announced earlier this year, the new Volkswagen Polo GTI Edition 25 is on sale now from £31,295 in the UK, £2,390 more than the standard Polo GTI model. Volkswagen are only making 2,500 units with 350 coming to the UK. The new car has arrived to celebrate 25 years of the Polo GTI.

Changes include some styling upgrades and extra equipment. Volkswagen has fitted new sports suspension, lowering the car by 15mm when compared to the standard Polo GTI. We also have unique spring and damper tuning and black gloss 18-inch ‘Adelaide’ alloy wheels. Along the side there is a unique decal as well as black gloss on the roof and door mirrors.

Inside, the iconic GTI tartan trim has been replaced with black leather seats, with GTI logos embroidered on. Black gloss trim garnishes the car, but we do still find the traditional red stitching on the steering wheel, gear shifter and centre console.

For the engine, no changes have been made. It has the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit with 204bhp. Like all recent Polo GTI models, Volkswagen only offers it with a seven speed DSG gearbox, no manual option here. 0-60mph takes 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of 149mph.

The new Polo GTI Edition 25 is on sale now from £31,295.
