Volkswagen reveals prices for new Caddy

Volkswagen reveals prices for new Caddy

Volkswagen announced the all new Caddy van back in February of this year, the new van sits on the MQB platform for the first time, giving the car more room and a larger distance between the arches. At the time, nothing was known about the pricing, just that it has a very similar interior to the new Golf 8.

We now know that the Caddy will start at £17,800 when it goes on sale and all the way up to £26,850 for the top spec version. At the announcement in February, it was understood that Volkswagen were doing away with the Trendline names and moving to the naming scheme from the new Golf, such as Life and Style. This decision looks to have changed as there are three specs to choose from at launch, Startline, Trendline and Highline.

The Specs

Statline is £17,800 which gets you a standard multi-function steering wheel, electric windows, electronic handbrake and a 6.5-inch touchscreen. The base spec also has black plastic cladding on the bumpers.

Trednline is £19,275 and adds body coloured bumpers, rear parking sensors, air conditioning, leather steering wheel and a larger touchscreen, at 8.25-inches.

Highline is £22,075 and you get alloy wheels, parking sensors on the front and the rear, electric folding door mirrors and LED lights on the rear. On the inside, the touchscreen is increased to 10-inches.

Engines

At launch, there will be a choice of four engines, three of them are diesel and one is petrol. The 2.0-litre diesel comes in three versions, 74bhp, 101bhp or 120bhp. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre producing 112bhp.

At the time of writing, there doesn’t seem to be a plug in hybrid option or a full EV van.

Release date

Volkswagen will be taking orders from December 2020 here in the UK, with the first batch of deliveries to take place in Spring 2021.
