Windows 10 testers will be able to keep it for free

How Windows 10 will be released has been confusing and now Microsoft has cleared up on how the next generation of Windows will get to customers and insiders. Last week the company revealed that any testers who wanted to try the operation system would subsequently get it for free in turn for testing out beta software. Now, this week Microsoft has added further confusion to the mix by updating its blog post to clarify and details about how users will upgrade from Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and from the Windows 10 Insider Preview.

Microsoft have said that any users using Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will be able to get a legitimate and free copy of Windows 10 come July 29, but people currently testing out Windows 10 in the Insider Preview are required to still be on the beta channel to keep using the OS.

Any builds of the Insider Preview will expire is they aren’t upgraded.

Windows 10 is set to launch on July 29 and is free for users on Windows 7 or later.
