Ford Ranger Raptor is being trialled by UK Police forces

Back at the end of November, Ford UK announced that the new high performance version of its Ranger pickup truck – the Ranger Raptor is starting to be trailed by select police forces across the UK. Initially, South Wales Police had access to the pickup and in November, Autocar spoke to Ford who said several “covert teams” had asked about the Raptor and that they were “hopeful” more forces could start using the Ranger Raptor.

In November, Dan Alcock who is head of Ford Performance Communications UK tweeted some information about the new Ranger Raptor.

And it looks like the Raptor is making its way to more forces already, Theresa Cheney head of transport for Northhamptonshire Police tweeted that they now have the new Raptor Ranger too.

The Ford Ranger Raptor has a top speed of 106mph, with a 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine producing 210bhp. 0-60 is dealt with in 10.5 seconds.

The Ranger Raptor has Apple CarPlay support, Sync 3 and Fox shock absorbers and starts at £47,874. Learn more here
