Mini UK has announced a new version the Mini Convertible, called the ‘Sidewalk edition’ which Mini is saying is in time for Spring, which is “being awaited with great anticipation.” The new model is around £8,000 more than the standard Cooper S model, of which it is based on and is a limited run model with only a few coming to the UK.

What’s different about it?

The new model is available in a new shade of blue, called Deep Laguna blue and also a two tone stripe down the bonnet in titanium grey.

The new model also has a new folding roof with a chequered flag design (See gallery) and new lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels, which are also in a two-tone paint colour.

The Sidewalk Edition also has the same 2.0-litre petrol engine as the standard Cooper S model, with 189bhp and 7-speed gearbox. The new car adds the unique softtop, mirror caps in the same colour as the car, 17-inch two tone alloys, Sidewalk logo on the steering wheel, badging in the side indicator lights housing and unique floor mats with yellow stitching.

The standard kit comes from the ‘Chili’ pack which also has LED headlights, interior ambient lighting, automatic climate control and a passenger seat which can be height adjusted. Along with a lot more.

How much is the Sidewalk Edition?

The UK market is being allocated only 150 of this limited edition, and starts at £34,215. Mini is taking orders now and deliveries will start in March.
