Google announces the Pixel Watch, coming later this year

Google this week at its annual I/O 2022 developer conference has announced the all new Pixel Watch. At this stage, everyone has pretty much seen what the watch looks like as it has been leaked quite a bit. Google has revealed the official pictures of the watch and it’ll be available later this year.

We don’t know a whole lot about the specifications, but it has a domed, round face which is a stark deviation from what Apple has been doing with the Apple Watch. The bands are all offered in a pastel colour palate and there is a crown too for interacting with the OS. Google and Samsung announced they would start working together last year and as a result, the Pixel Watch runs Wear OS 3.

Due to Google owning Fitbit, it has said that the Pixel Watch will have a lot of integration, with activity and biometric tracking as well as heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking.

Besides this, Google hasn’t released much more information. There is no details on battery life, the internals or price. It isn’t even clear if this will work with the iPhone. Google is planning on revealing more later this year.
