Chery, which has only been in the UK since the end of August - is due to launch its third SUV in the UK, having recently launched the Chery Tiggo 7 and Chery Tiggo 8.
The new Chery Tiggo 9 will be the brand's most upmarket model, offered in just the one trim level and one powertrain. Much like the Tiggo 7 and 8, the 9 will be offered as a plug-in-hybrid, something the brand calls the CHS or Chery Super Hybrid System. This setup uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 34.46kWh battery pack - offering a total of 650 miles of range.
In total, it has 422bhp, 428lb ft of torque, can handle 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds and offers 91 miles of range. This makes it one of the longest range PHEVs on sale in the UK, up there with the Volkswagen Golf eHybrid with 89 miles and the Omoda 9, the latter of which has 93 miles of range.
The Tiggo 9 also supports DC fast charging of up to 71kW, meaning it'll take 18 mins to get from 30-80%. It also supports V2L at 6.6kW, but AC charging specs are yet to be announced.
As mentioned, just the one trim level is available, the Summit and this comes with a very large 15.6-inch 2.5K infotainment screen, 10-inch driver's display, 14 Sony speakers as well as heated and ventilated seats for the front and rear seats.
Pricing in the UK is from £43,015 and features a 7 year/100,000 mile warranty. First UK deliveries to customers will start in December.
