Earlier this week, tado° announced a new colour option for its popular smart thermostat. For a long time, the company has only offered the device in one colour, white. But now the company has launched a new ‘Black Edition’, after some community feedback. Christian Deilmann from tado° has said that many of their users were looking for a new design for the device and to help it blend into more environments.

tado° Smart Thermostats are said to help customers reduce their energy bills. The company said the device can help customers save an average of 22% on energy bills, especially crucial during the sky rocketing energy bills we are seeing across the UK currently.

Along side the new ‘Black Edition’ device, tado° is also rolling out a dark mode to its app, again after some feedback from users. This will help save battery life, make things easier to check at night and some users prefer the look of dark mode UI on smartphones.

The new tado° Smart Thermostat Black Edition will cost £199.99 in the UK and will be available only in a Wireless Starter Kit too. The updated app will start rolling out to users on 5th September.
