All new Nissan Qashqai on sale now, all are hybrid only

All new Nissan Qashqai on sale now, all are hybrid only

Nissan has put the all new Qashqai on sale this week, after revealing it back in February this year. The new Qashqai is the third generation, with the first one kick starting the crossover move after its introduction in 2007. It sits on all new platform with every model being hybrid only, but no fully electric option.

The overall car is larger, 35mm has been added to the length and 32mm to the width. Nissan has also added the option of 20-inch alloy wheels for higher spec trim levels. Nissan has also managed to improve the overall stiffness of the car by 41%, with new welding and stamping techniques.

Nissan has tried to make the new Qashqai feel more premium too, with a much improved infotainment system, with a larger 9-inch touchscreen replacing the older 7-inch version. Nissan also provides Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa integration as well as a large 10.8-inch head-up display.

New Qashqai starts at £23,535 here in the UK and go as far up as £37,835 for the top spec model. Engine choices are a 1.3-litre petrol engine with either 136bhp or 154bhp and paired to a 12V mild hybrid system. The hybrid system will do energy recuperation and then provide a boost to the acceleration. That engine can be had with a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox. The 154bhp variant can be had with optional four wheel drive too.

The new Qashqai is on sale now, prices starting at £23,535 and the first deliveries in the UK are set to start later this year.
