Apple launches new 8th generation entry level iPad

Apple launches new 8th generation entry level iPad

Yesterday, at its ‘Time Flies’ event, Apple introduced a new updated iPad, bringing the entry level model up to the eighth generation with this new relatively minor update. The seventh generation from 2019 was the first model to jump from a 9.7-inch screen size to the larger 10.2-inch screen and the new eighth generation is visually identical to the outgoing model. Apple has updated the chip from the A10 to the A12 Bionic, bringing the neural engine to the entry level iPad for the first time.

Everything else remains the same, the screen is still not laminated to the display like it is on the higher end models, the camera system remains the same at 8MP, and it still works with the first generation Apple Pencil and smart keyboard covers.

iPad eighth generation can be ordered starting yesterday for £329 for 32GB and £429 for 128GB. WiFi and cellular models also available. Orders started yesterday and availability will start from this Friday.
