BMW reveals new, updated X7 with refreshed design

BMW has introduced a new facelifted version of its flagship SUV, the X7. The new updated model features a completely redesigned front end, with split headlights as well as a new upgraded interior, new technology and new engines.

This new refreshed model comes three and a half years after the X7 was originally introduced, it rivals the Mercedes GLS and Audi Q8 and is manufacurtred in the US, in Spartanburg South Carolina.

On the new X7, BMW has refreshed a large amount of the design, with the split headlights look. The top half has the daytime running lights and indicators, the lower half has the more powerful headlights. Down at the bottom of the grille, the aero design has been reworked with air ducts which provide cooling air to the front brakes. Om the back, there are some new look LED lights with the chrome bar redesigned.

On the inside, there is some design resemblance to the new all electric BMW iX, with a curved display which houses a 12.3-inch display for the driver and a large 14.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment systems. The screens also run BMW’s latest eighth generation operating system.

With the engines, BMW has introduced a raft of new hybrid options, with the choice of a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six, in either diesel or petrol. Each engine now gets the new BMW 48V mild-hybrid system which helps provide an extra boost of power, as well as helping the car to be more efficient.

The new flagship option for the X8 is the M60i xDrive. This model has a 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine with the 48V mild-hybrid system, it has 523bhp and can do 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds. Top speed has been limited to 155mph.

The new BMW X7 will go on sale this August, prices are yet to be revealed.
