BYD is bringing Denza to the UK, its premium sub-brand

BYD has a number of sub-brands and these include Fangchengbao, Denza and Yangwang. We reported back in summer 2024 that Fangchengbao will come to the UK at some stage and this brand specialises in off-roaders, which are available with either fully electric and hybrid powertrains. However, the latest news is that BYD is also planning on bringing Denza to the UK too.

Denza is a premium brand, which rivals the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Lexus. Originally, Denza was launched as a joint venture between Mercedes and BYD in 2010, but is now fully owned by BYD.

At the moment, BYD hasn't exactly said when Denza will start being sold in the UK, or even which model it'll bring here first. However, in its home turf of China it currently has five models on offer, with the Z9GT estate being its flagship model. This can be had as a full EV or a plug-in-hybrid. The full EV version has three motors, up to 1,000 BHP and a super large 100kWh battery pack.

There is also the Z9 saloon, D9 MPV, N9 large SUV and the N7, which is a mid-size SUV.

Denza makes full use of the advanced platform that BYD has, e-Platform 3.0 - which underpins the BYD Seal, Dolphin as well as the latest Sealion 7.

More information should be released soon regarding Denza and its presence in the UK.
