Ford starts accepting orders for the F-150 Lightning again, but prices are higher

Earlier this week, Ford started taking orders again in the US for the all electric F-150 Lightning. The company had to suspend new orders due to increased demand and delays with production. Ford has taken the opportunity to update the model lineup too, with new colour options, upgraded range and more.

Starting today, customers that have an active order for a F-150 Lightning can convert it to an order for the new F-150 Lightning. Prices have gone up however, ranging from $6,000 to $8,500 depending on what model you go for. For example, the base model F-150 Lightning Pro used to be $46,974 but has been increased by $7,000 up to $53,974.

Ford seems to be doing pretty well with its electric vehicle range, with over 4,400 F-150 Lightning trucks so far in 2022. This is despite the truck being unavailable for a period of time. Despite not offering electric vehicles for that long, Ford is now only in second place behind Tesla – and the company only has three EVs on sale, with the Mustang Mach-e, E-Transit and F-150 Lightning.

Orders placed starting today will start delivering to customers later this year.
