Ford will reveal a new electric Tourneo Custom next month

Ford is planning on releasing its second all electric van next month, following on from the full size E-Transit which was announced in November 2020. All we have to go on is the above image from Ford and judging by the silhouette it looks like a Ford Tourneo Custom more than anything else, which would make sense based on Ford’s existing lineup.

Ford is planning on revealing the Tourneo Custom on Monday 9th May at 9:00am and it’ll be one of the four commercial vehicles Ford is planning to launch electric version of by 2024.

As of yet, there is basically no information revealed by Ford. We’ll have to wait a few weeks before we know everything – however we can look at the larger Ford E-Transit for some clues. The E-Transit is powered by a 60kWh battery which is good for 196 miles of range. The motor packs 181bhp, with the top spec models having a meaty 265bhp.

“The new announcement will mark the next key milestone on the road to zero emissions for all Ford vehicle sales in Europe and carbon neutrality across our European footprint of facilities, logistics and suppliers by 2035.”

Ford

Ford has recently split its company into separate divisions, with Ford Blue handling combustion based vehicles, the Model E division handles electric consumer facing cars and then there is Ford Pro which handles all the commercial vehicles. The upcoming electric Tourneo Custom is set to be the first model revealed since the company structure was changed.
