Genesis GV60 facelift expected to appear in February 2025

In a recent article from The Korean Car Blog, it has been reported that the Genesis GV60 will get a refreshed facelift model in 2025. The GV60, which is the company's first all electric car - is due a mid-life facelift, and it has been just over three years since the model was debuted, back in August 2021. Genesis is expected to announce the car publicly in February 2025, according to The Korean Car Blog, with a final mass produced model to be completed by January 2025.

The new GV60 has the code name of JW PE internaly and testing has been taking place in South Korea throughout 2024 and is due to conclude by the end of this year.

Genesis is targeting some lofty goals for sales of the updated GV60, with an annual goal of shifting 20,000 cars. For context, in 2023 - Genesis sold 11,145 GV60 models, with 3,198 in South Korea and 6,947 to the rest of the world.

Genesis is expected to bring a few different changes to the new GV60, with larger batteries, revamped tech and updated interior. For example, just like the Hyundai Group has done with the Ioniq 5, it is understood that the battery in the GV60 will get bigger, from 77.4kWh to 84kWh. Range should jump fro 450km to 500km (279 miles - 310 miles). Although it must be said that these range figures are from The Korean Car Blog and won't likely reflect the WLTP range for the UK and EU markets.

Inside, it looks like Genesis have opted for the updated steering wheel seen on the latest G80 saloon car, which compared to what the GV60 had before is less round and more traditional in shape. For the tech, The Korean Car Blog mention that it will have the latest 27-inch OLED screens, seen again in the latest G80 and GV80 luxury models.

We already know about the upcoming GV60 Magma, a performance focused variant of the car and it is likely to adopt the features seen on this refreshed car. The GV60 Magma is expected to debut in various markets in 2025.
