Jaguar is discontinuing the I-Pace and E-Pace in preparation to go all EV

It has been reported today that Jaguar is going to discontinue two of the three SUV models that it currently sells, the I-Pace and E-Pace which will leave the F-Pace on sale for a period of time. Jaguar is getting ready to become a brand new reinvention of itself when it becomes an EV-only luxury brand in 2025. To prepare for that, the company has been busy trimming down its lineup. In June, the very last F-Type rolled off the production line, as did the last XF and XE models.

The E-Pace and electric I-Pace are made by Magna Steyr in Austria and the XE, XF and F-Type were made in Castle Bromwich. The F-Pace left behind is made in the same factory JLR uses for some Land Rover products. Jaguar has not yet confirmed a date as to when the I-Pace and E-Pace will stop production, but it is happening.

In 2023, JLR sold 21,943 F-Pace models, 7,897 E-Paces and 4,874 I-Paces. The main reason for keeping the F-Pace around at the moment is because it sells, it outsold the rest of the entire Jaguar lineup combined.

“We are eliminating five products, all lower value. None of those are vehicles on which we made any money, so we are replacing them with new vehicles on newly designed architectures."

Adrian Mardell - JLR CEO

Going forward, Jaguar is focusing on a new electric grand touring car, built on a new JEA platform and the car is due to be revealed later this year. The car is set to cost around £100,000 wit 430 miles of range and 575bhp.

Jaguar is expected to follow up the GT car with an electric SUV, something designed to rival the Bentley Bentayga.
