GWM to launch Haval SUVs in the UK next year

GWM launched the Ora brand to the UK in 2022 and since then, this has been the only car the company has sold here. At the moment, the next vehicle expected to launch soon from the company is the Ora 07, but according to its website this is due to launch in 2024. However, in the meantime the company is going to be rebranded from GWM Ora to simply GWM (Great Wall Motor) as it plans to expand the brands it is going to offer in the UK.

Currently, GWM has five brands in its roster, Ora, Haval, Wey, Tank and Poer. Starting in February 2025, GWM will launch the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid SUV to the UK market and this could spark more brands from GWM to come here too. In parts of Europe, the company already offers Wey branded vehicles.

"This is the start of a new era for GWM in the UK, as we expand the product offering available to customers. With the introduction of Haval under the GWM umbrella, we are able to offer customers a very competitively priced, and well specified petrol hybrid car, for those that want to make their first step toward electrification. All our current GWM Ora Retailers will re-align with the new GWM branding and will be offering the Haval Jolion Pro from its launch in early 2025."

Haval Jolion Pro

The Jolion Pro is a hybrid SUV about the same size as the Nissan X-Trail and has a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a supplemental electric motor, meaning in total it makes 188bhp and 277lb ft of torque. 0-60mph is handled in 8.5 seconds and GWM says it returns 55mpg, on average.

UK specifcations and pricing are not yet available and should be revealed soon.
