MG has announced this week that the new upcoming Cyberster EV roadster will be revealed next year in April 2023. The all electric sports car is to be revealed next year, with first deliveries to customers to commence in the first half of 2024.

The car is known internally as the ‘Project E’ and was revealed last year as the Cyberster concept. The car was due to be revealed at the Guangzhou this month, but this has been postponed until next year, as MG feared the event would be cancelled.

MG UK shared the following tweet a few months ago in August, which has given us the closest look at the upcoming car so far. It looks to have a folding electric canvas roof, two tone sports seats, yoke steering wheel and scissor doors.

MG has called it the “Return of the legend” which could mean that the company is planning on reusing a model name from MG’s past. The car will be a classic two seater, with rear wheel drive.

The Cyberster is going to be all electric, with the concept having a range of 497 miles, 0-60mph in around 3.0 seconds and a target to make the price affordable, considering MG is targeting is a younger audience.

MG has other all electric models on sale in the UK, including the MG ZS EV SUV, MG 4 hatchback and the MG 5 estate. It is likely that MG could use the same powertrains, which are available in without 167bhp and 201bhp versions.
