Netflix wont work on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS later this year

The Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be losing access to Netflix later this year on the 30th June 2021 and as of writing, the actual app has been removed from the eShop, making it impossible for new users to download the app – if there are any new users. Nintendo updated its support document to outline the details, with a full list of affected devices.

These apps will lose access to Netflix:

New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 2DS XL, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS, Wii U Deluxe, Wii U Basic

The 3DS was discontinued back in September last year, after nearly 10 years on the market and the small screen of the 3DS was never really suited to watching films and TV shows. It would make more sense to add support for Netflix to the Nintendo Switch, since the more expensive model can be plugged into a TV.
