New ‪Tesla‬ Roadster can now go 400 miles on one charge

The new Model D electric car from Tesla may be one of the most popular electric cars on the market, but Tesla’s new updated model can go almost four hundred miles on one charge.

Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO tweeted out on Christmas that the updated Tesla Roadster will “enable non-stop travel from LA to SF – almost 400 mile range.”

Along with more details published on the Tesla blog, such as a more in-depth look into the Roadster 3.0. The new model houses a new, more efficient battery cell which provides 31% more energy, along with a redesigned, retrofit aerodynamics kit which produces 14% less drag. Also changed is the tires, wheel bearings and residual brake drag which allows a 20% better rolling resistance.

Tesla has said to demonstrate Roadster 3.0, they will be demoing a non-stop drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 2015.
