Nissan has recently announced that it is now testing two, large electric trucks in the port of Los Angeles. The company hasn’t got any of their own, but instead using trucks from Nikola and Kenworth to deliver new passenger cars to local dealerships within the area of LA. This initial trial will see the use of just two trucks and is more of a proof-of-concept. If successful, the company will plan on using more trucks within LA to deliver cars to dealerships.

Nissan is partnering with Avant-Garde Auto Logistics and this will also see charging points installed in the port of LA to keep the trucks running.

Nissan is planning on becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and the company itself is launching new electric vehicles, not only here in the EU and UK but also in the US too. The company is best known for the Nissan Leaf, one of the first accessible electric cars and also more recently, with the Ariya – an all electric SUV.
