It is CES this week and Samsung has announced a new phone at the event, a space the company used to use to launch new Galaxy S devices. However, since those days CES has moved from being a place that new cars are launched and more recently, smart home technology.

Today, Samsung have announced a new budget focused device, the A14 5G. This is pretty much the same phone that was released last year, the A13 5G, however, the screen is now slightly larger and a new 13MP front facing camera.

The larger screen is only marginally so, now at 6.6-inches and the screen is also 90Hz compatible with a denser resolution. The CPU used here is the exact same as the A13 5G, still using the MediaTek Dimensity 700 which itself is now over two years old. On the back, the triple camera system is the same, with a 50MP main camera, 2MP macro and 2MP depth cameras.

In the US, the A14 5G is offered in only one configatiin, with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage – but the microSD card slot supports up to 1TB cards, which should be more than enough. Samsung has promised that up to this phone will come with up to two major Android updates and four years of security support.

At the moment, there isn’t any official word on when the A14 5G will go on sale.
