Tesla has revealed today that going forward, the Model S and Model X will only be available as a left-hand-drive car world wide as the company focuses on ramping up production and improving quality. This decision is in place for the foreseeable future, according to a company representative that spoke to Autocar today.

Most of the world drives on the right and car steering wheels being on the left. However, many counties such as the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Africa and many more have car steering wheels on the right and drive on the right. Tesla will only be offering the Model S and Model X in this configuration, the Model 3 and Model Y are unaffected.

Customers who already have reservations in the UK, can now purchase a new left-hand-drive Tesla. Otherwise, they can get £2,000 or €2,000 off the price of a new Model 3 or Model Y. Lastly, they are welcome to cancel orders with a full refund.

Both the Model S and Model X Plaid are now on sale in the UK, exclusively in left-hand-drive priced at £114,930 and £124,780, respectively.
