Tesla Model Y now has a seven seat option for UK and Europe

Tesla has recently updated the Model Y and it is now available with seven seats. The new variant is available to order now from Tesla direct, but weirdly it is only available on one of the three trim levels. The seven seat option can be specced on the Long Range All-Wheel Drive model and it costs an extra £2,500.

When you spec seven sears, the boot space is still a reasonable 363 litres, this expands up to 753 litres if you fold the third row down and then with both rows folded down, this increases to 2,040 litres.

Orders for the seven seat variant of the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive can be made now and the deliveries will take place between November and Decemnber this year. Prices are £55,590 or around £399 per month on a PCP from Tesla directly.

The Tesla Model Y has been huge, not only for Tesla but for the whole EV market. In 2023, the Model Y became the best selling car in Europe, beating any other car regardless of fuel source. It also marked the first time an electric car topped the sales charts.

Tesla used to offer the Model X and Model S with seven seats, but these cars are no longer for sale in the UK. The Model Y is due to receive a major facelift in 2025, similar to the upgraded Model 3. This refresh refined the exterior styling, but also added better materials inside, new rear touchscreen, updated centre console and customisable LED moodlighting.
