Ubiquiti announces new UniFi Dream Router, which is coming soon to EA store

This week, Ubiquiti revealed the new UniFi Dream Router, which isn’t yet available to Early Access or the general public. Ubiquiti never usually reveals a new beta product publicly, usually it stays around in the Early Access store until it gets launched properly. However, Ubiquiti has released a YouTube video about the new UniFi Dream Router and all that is new.

Ubiquiti says the UDR is coming soon to the EA store with prices yet to be confirmed. It looks to be very similar in design to the standard UDM but has a lot more packed into it, with a small LCN colour screen for showing device stats, an upgraded WiFi access point going from 802.11ac to 802.11ax (WiFi 6).

Integrated PoE Switch on the UDR

On the back, Ubiquiti has added support for PoE on two of the ethernet ports, at 802.3af. This is very useful considering the UDR is now supporting all the other UniFi applications such as UniFi Protect, UniFi Access and more. The UDR has an integrated 128GB SSD for camera recordings and can be expanded, thanks to a full size SD card on the rear.
