The latest Volkswagen Transporter has gained a new sporty trim level in the UK, which will be available to order this April. The new Transporter Sportline gives the van a big visual makeover, with some GTI like styling enhancements inside and out.
Despite the Sportline nameplate being used on most Skoda models, it does have some lineage going back to Transporter vans of old, with the T5 and T6 both getting Sportline models over the past 20+ years.
The Transporter Sportline doesn't get any changes to the drivetrain, as far as we know - so despite looking like one, this sadly isn't a Transporter GTI. It'll be available as either a diesel, eHybrid (PHEV) or as a full EV. Although, the plug-in-hybrid variants of the Transporter aren't available in the UK just yet, despite its cousin, the Ford Transit Custom being offered as a PHEV.
It'll be available as a standard panel van or Kombi, with the choice between SWB or LWB.
On the outside VW has made quite a few changes, with a gloss black grille, red 'GTI-like' stripe, more aggressive bumpers, side skirts, exclusive alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights and leather sports seats - however, no interior photos have been released just yet.
It'll be available to order this April, with prices starting at £62,752. Volkswagen is celebrating 75 years of its iconic line of vans with a limited run 75th anniversary edition, which will be limited to just 75 units. It'll come in a special Moss Green paint, with green stitching inside too and will cost from £64,552.
