Volkswagen Crafter to get minor updates and new interior next month

Volkswagen has this week revealed that its largest commercial vehicle, the Crafter will receive some much needed improvements next month. The Crafter has been lagging behind in terms of interior technology for a whole now and a more minor thing, the new corporate logo hasn’t been a feature either. The new updated Crafter will be available to order in the UK in the middle of April, with the first deliveries starting in the summer.

Inside is where the Crafter has been heavily revised. We get the latest VW steering wheel and logos as well as a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, straight from the other models. If you want something larger, there is also a 12.9-inch unit available. It does unfortunately have the same slider volume and temperature controls however. The screen is straight from the latest cars that VW makes, meaning it how has support for ChatGPT and a more advanced voice control system.

Elsewhere there is much more space, with a new dashboard design to allow for more storage and if you opt for the automatic model, VW has moved it to a column shifter like the latest ID models so there will be more space for another cup holder. Elsewhere, there is also Autonomous Emergency Braking, Cyclist and Pedestrian Monitoring, Lane Assist, Road Sign Display, a speed limiter and rear parking sensors all fitted as standard.

The main changes have been to the interior tech and making the Crafter a bit more up to date. The only thing changed on the exterior is the new VW badge. Pricing and other UK specs are due to be clarified in due course.
