As of yesterday, Volkswagen in Germany is now rolling out the first deliveries of the new ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo to customers. This comes after around six months since VW started taking pre-orders and both versions are now available at all VW dealers throughout Germany.

Just this week, the first customer received their ID. Buzz in Hanover, which was a white ID. Buzz Cargo. The customer was a local entrepreneur, Wolfgang-Nils Kempe. He said the following:

“We decided on the ID. Buzz Cargo because it perfectly combines sustainability and the space we need. We have already been dealing with modern ideas around heating and with technical innovations for years, installing heat pumps and solar systems. So it’s clear that we also want to switch to alternative drives for our vehicles.”

Volkswagen has had plans to produce around 15,000 ID. Buzz vehicles it its factory in Hanover. However, just under half of these won’t be going to customers, instead to be placed in dealerships to show off to new customers. Once this initial wave is sorted, VW will be able to deliver more to customers.

VW UK has provided some transparency regarding options and delivery time frames for the new ID. Buzz:

“Availability of navigation and rear view camera may be restricted due to supply shortages, depending on the time you place your order. This is down to a number of reasons, including component shortages, in particular for semi-conductors, and ongoing impacts of the war in Ukraine. Please be assured we are working hard to find solutions to supply chain issues and provide accurate information to your local Van Centre, who will always be best placed to keep you up to date with specific production and delivery timings.”

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is on sale, for €64,581 in Germany for the ID. Buzz Pro and for the ID. Buzz Cargo, it is €54,430. Here in the UK, prices start at £57,115.
