XPeng G6 now on sale in the UK for under £40,000

XPeng G6

XPeng, a standalone Chinese EV company has now entered the UK market and is being imported by the same company who handles the GWM Ora 03 and Haval Jolion Pro. The new XPeng G6 is on sale now and is priced at £39,990. It's a direct rival for the Tesla Model Y and for this reasoning, it makes sense why XPeng has decided to launch this model here first.

The Tesla Model Y is the best selling EV in the UK and at times, it has been the best selling car overall. Tesla has just launched a brand new facelifted version of the Model Y for 2025, although pricing at the moment is quite high, although the company is due to launch the entry-level pricing.

XPeng has two versions of the G6 to choose from, Standard Range and Long Range, both of which are rear wheel drive only. The smaller of the two has a 66kWh LFP battery and up to 270 miles of range. The larger of the two has a 87.5kWh NMC battery and 354 miles of range.

XPeng G6 UK Pricing

The Standard Range is priced at £39,990 and the Long Range is £44,990.

Charging speed is also impressive, rated at 215kW for the smaller battery and 280kW for the larger. This is impressive, given the price point of the cars, as some models can achieve these speeds, but are usually much more expensive.

To keep the lineup simple, XPeng doesn't have any options to choose from for the G6, instead everything comes as standard and this is very common with Chinese car brands. All models come with a 15-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated wireless phone charging pads, panoramic roof, heated rear seats, heated and ventilated front seats and a heat pump.

XPeng G6

The XPeng G6 will be the only model sold in the UK for now, but the X9 electric MPV will launch towards the end of the year. The first XPeng dealership will be opened in March, but the location has not been revealed yet. However, before 2026 it is aiming to have 20 open throughout the UK.

At the moment, it can be pre-ordered from the XPeng UK website. Timings surrounding deliveries are not yet known.

XPeng has entered the UK market with help from International Motors Limited. IML is responsible for importing many brands into the UK, such as GWM, Subaru and Izuzu.
