Apple announces event for 15th September

Apple announces event for 15th September

Yesterday we posted that Apple could launching new products this week via a press briefing, which was actually supposed to be today due to recent predications from noted Apple leaker, Jon Prosser. But that news just ended up being the announcement for an upcoming Apple event which is set to take place on 15th September at 10am PDT / 6PM BST.

The event is expected to be a pre-recorded, digital only event like WWDC was back in June this year as no media personnel have been invited. Only some digital invitations have been sent out to some press members, but everyone will get the same experience online via the stream this year. Like WWDC, the event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater within Apple Park.

What is expected?

We are expecting the iPhone 12 to be announced, which according to recent leaks and rumours is supposed to have the same overall look of the iPhone 11 but with an iPhone 4 flair to it, with squared off edges. LiDAR is set to make its way to the iPhone, as it was launched on the iPad Pro this year as well as a 120Hz screen as well as the A14 chip.

However, Apple did say at its most recent earnings call that the iPhone would be slightly delayed this year, which could mean that it gets announced in October this year rather than next week.

Next week’s event could be left to the Apple Watch Series 6 and a new iPad Air.

The event

We’ll be sure to be covering the event next week, make sure to stay tuned to A&T Tech as well as our @aandt_live Twitter account for live updates from the #appleevent.
