Canada is putting more investment into electric public transport

Canada has announced recently that it is investing $2.75 billion CAD into making sure its public transport network is fully electric. Admittedly in a lot of places around the world, the trains and buses aren’t seeing nearly as much use as it use to before the pandemic, but once this is all over the buses will get more use again. Canada will be purchasing new electric buses over the next five years from Nova Bus, GreenPower and New Flyer.

The government is hoping to roll our 5,000 electric buses over the next five years. In China, Shenzhen has 16,000 fully electric buses in service which as a result, emit around 48% less carbon dioxide particles.
