Hyundai’s new Tucson N-Line hybrid is now on sale in the UK, with prices from £34,900 for the hybrid model and from £39,330 for the PHEV version. Both models will go on sale here in the UK later this summer.

Hyundai and Kia are becoming market leaders in the electric car space, Hyundai has the similarly sizes Kona all electric small SUV to the Tucson and there is yet to be an all electric Tucson so far, but the company has announced two new hybrid models, which share the same combustion engine – a 1.6-litre petrol turbocharged engine.

The hybrid version has a 59bhp motor and 1.49kWh battery pack, with a combination of 227bhp in total. 0-60mph is handled in 8 seconds, with a top speed of 120mph. MPG is 48.7. The PHEV version is more powerful, with a 90bhp motor, 13.8kWh battery and a combination of 261bhp. 0-60mph for this model, due to its heaver battery is 8.6 seconds.

Being N-Line models, Hyundai has added some sporty features, with large alloys, redesigned intakes and rear diffuser. Inside, there is an N-branded steering wheel, black headlining as well as leather and and suede sports seats.

Inside, there is a large 10.25-inch infotainment display and wireless phone charging.

The new N-Line hybrid Tucson goes on sale later this summer.
